I woke up this morning, and was a Vegan.
It might be easy, this whole vegan for lent thing, because I am already vegetarian. And for a while I have been considering going the whole way. (As a vegetarian I already deny myself good food such as Haribo)
It was my sister who first put the idea into my head. We were talking about pancake day, my favourite day of the year, apart from Christmas. I had pancakes for breakfast and dinner yesterday (which was pancake day) yum yum. But today, I am vegan. Apartently a lot of folk used to go vegan at shrove time, aka lent, but I am trying it out. I still have cow milk and cheese in my fridge and mayonnaise (oh how am I going to cope?! Seriously - I have mayo with everything. I am not going to be able to cope), but also I have soya milk.
So here I sit with a cup of tea, with soya milk. I used to be lactose intolerant so am used to the flavour. Its different but the same. Still tea, at least. Coffee is going to be different, I can tell.
Coffee .... *slow smile comes onto face as I think about coffee*
I am a vegan, but haven't told my parents. Not that I live with them, but I am going to be staying with them this weekend. Ahh
